What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal wetlands regulations through field delineations and permit application preparation
- Conduct wetlands delineations in the field and provide guidance to junior staff members
- Prepare and review wetlands and biological documentation while managing contract compliance
- Coordinate effectively with project managers to meet deliverables and maintain confidentiality
- Participate in continuous improvement programs and stay current on industry trends through formal training and professional workshops
What is Required (Qualifications):
- BS/BA degree in a natural science field of study
- Valid Driver's License and an acceptable driving record per company standards
- Minimum of 4 years of related field experience; 6+ years of consulting experience related to wetland science and permitting preferred
- Familiarity with Army Corps of Engineers Regional Supplements, specifically the Arid West Regional Supplement
- Working knowledge of sub-meter accuracy GPS technologies and map interpretation skills
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience delineating wetlands per the 1987 Corps of Engineers Wetlands Delineation Manual
- Ability to lead and train support delineators on plant identification, soil characterization, and hydrologic indicators
- Experience conducting ecological field studies, habitat assessments, and biological surveys for protected species
- Proficiency in data entry, data review, and GPS use
- Collaborative skills to execute permit deliverables efficiently with team members
