What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Proactively assist law enforcement agencies with investigations of cold cases involving missing or murdered Indigenous women or persons
- Serve as an expert consultant for individual cold case investigations, providing specialized advice and assistance
- Organize and facilitate meetings of investigators from multiple agencies to discuss cold cases
- Coordinate with various experts to create a network for supporting cold case investigations
- Conduct basic internet research to assist in law enforcement investigations
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree and ten (10) years of experience conducting investigations, including authority to independently plan and conduct investigations in civil or criminal cases
- OR five years' experience as an AGO Investigator/Analyst
- Valid non-probationary Washington State Driver's License required
- Knowledge of investigative techniques, interviewing methods, and the judicial system
- Ability to independently plan investigative strategies and analyze evidence
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Completion of the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission's Basic Law Enforcement Academy or an accepted equivalent
- Experience navigating intergovernmental relationships and understanding of Tribal sovereignty
- Lived experience in a tribal community
