What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Research laws and prepare legal briefs, opinions, and memoranda
- Provide opinions on liability, damages, and value as requested by the Claims Department
- Prepare and handle pleadings, motions, and discovery, including depositions and examinations under oath
- Defend assigned matters by trial or dispositive hearing as applicable
- Document files clearly and professionally for understanding by clients and colleagues
What is Required (Qualifications):
- 2 to 6+ years of experience in litigation, specifically in insurance defense and/or personal injury
- Juris Doctor degree REQUIRED
- Admission to the New York Bar REQUIRED
- Must be licensed in good standing to practice law in New York and meet mandatory Continuing Legal Education (CLE) requirements
- Ability to travel as needed for trials, hearings, depositions, and meetings

- Strong professional communication skills in person, via telephone, and in written correspondence
