      Position Overview

      We are seeking a contract writer to develop a theologically grounded book on Bible study that combines compelling narrative with clear, practical guidance. This project may be story-driven—tracing how Scripture transforms a life—while also equipping readers with accessible methods and rhythms for studying the Bible themselves. The strongest proposals will clearly define the reader and demonstrate how the book will move them from passive reading to active, transformative engagement with God’s Word.


      Scope of Work

      • Research, outline, and write a full-length manuscript (approximately 45,000–75,000 words)
      • Collaborate closely with the editorial team through multiple rounds of revision
      • Ensure theological alignment with The Daily Grace Co.’s doctrinal commitment


      Commitment

      Contract, per-project basis.


      Compensation

      Compensation is determined based on project scope and complexity.


      Additional Information

      Contractors are engaged based on the needs of specific projects and are not guaranteed ongoing or full-time work. Participation in meetings, workshops, or collaborative sessions may be requested depending on the project timeline.

      Proposal Requirements


      Important:
      Proposals that do not include all required components listed below cannot be reviewed.


      Please submit all materials in a single document and include:

      1. Title and Subtitle

      2. Controlling Idea (1–2 sentences)

      3. One-Paragraph Summary
      Provide a concise overview of the book’s purpose, scope, structure, and tone.

      4. Target Audience Description (One of the Most Important Sections)Who this book is specifically for

      • Their stage or season of life
      • The particular struggles, questions, or longings they are experiencing
      • Why this book matters to them now
      • Tip: Specificity is essential. Broad descriptions such as “Christian women” or “believers” are not sufficient.

      5. Comparable Titles (2–3 from the Past 5 Years)
      Identify 2–3 comparable books published within the last five years and explain:

      • How your book overlaps with each one
      • How it is meaningfully distinct in approach, audience, tone, or theological emphasis

      6. Author Bio
      Explain what uniquely qualifies you to write this book, including:

      • Education
      • Ministry, counseling, academic, or professional experience
      • Subject-matter expertise
      • Lived experience relevant to the topic (if appropriate)
      • Previous publishing or writing experience

      7. Detailed Chapter Outline
      Provide a working table of contents that includes:

      • Chapter titles
      • The main idea of each chapter and how it supports the controlling idea of the book

      8. Sample Material

      • The complete book introduction
      • Two fully written sample chapters representative of the final manuscript

      9. Front and Back Matter (Optional)
      Describe any supplemental materials (e.g., photography, illustrations, reflection questions, discussion guides, recommended resources, liturgies, appendices, etc.).

      10. Timeline and Specifications
      Include:

      • Current manuscript status (idea stage, in progress, complete, etc.)
      • Estimated total word count (typically 45,000–75,000 words)
      • Anticipated manuscript delivery date
