What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Consult with users or decision-makers to identify data sources and required data elements
- Integrate data from multiple sources, ensuring accuracy and integrity for decision-making
- Interpret data to identify business trends and suggest areas for process improvement
- Manage ad-hoc report requests and develop reporting processes
- Serve on special projects to enhance business initiatives
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Math, Business, Data Science/Informatics, Actuarial Science, Healthcare Management, or related field; or five (5) years of health-related experience in an insurance, managed care, or healthcare technology organization
- Minimum three (3) years of data analytics experience, including data extraction, manipulation, repository building, and interpretation; or applicable Master’s degree with one (1) year of data analytics experience
- Experience with relational databases, such as SAS, SQL, AQT, and MS Windows-based query software
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data sets
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience with data management and analysis tools, including but not limited to MS Access, SAS, R, S+, SQL, or Cognos
- Familiarity with report creation and presentation techniques
- Ability to engage in cross-functional communications and planning
- Strong problem-solving skills and critical thinking abilities
- Experience in a healthcare-related organization
