      What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
      - Provide timely and practical legal counsel to the City Council, City leadership, and department staff
      - Perform complex legal research and prepare written memoranda and legal opinions
      - Prepare, review, and negotiate various transactional legal documents
      - Manage civil litigation and administrative matters involving the City
      - Advise on sensitive legal and policy issues, including risk management and labor matters

      What is Required (Qualifications):
      - Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school
      - For Deputy City Attorney II: Minimum of three (3) years of professional legal experience, including municipal law
      - For Assistant City Attorney: Minimum of five (5) years of increasingly responsible experience in municipal law or a closely related field
      - Membership in the State Bar Association of California
      - Select positions may require a valid California Class C driver's license and satisfactory driving record
