What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Serve as a liaison and information resource to investigators and research personnel regarding federal requirements and policies for human research
- Attend and facilitate IRB meetings, ensuring quorum requirements and accurate documentation of meeting minutes
- Review human research protocol submissions for compliance with applicable regulations and institutional policies
- Compose correspondence to investigators regarding required modifications for IRB approval
- Collaborate with research staff and ancillary committees to ensure human subject protection and processing improvements
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree required; Master’s degree strongly preferred
- Certified IRB professional (CIP) credential in good standing or must pass certification exam within the first 90 days of employment
- At least 3-5 years of related research or regulatory affairs experience
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations governing human-subjects research preferred
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience working with human subjects research and IRB policies
- Familiarity with ethical principles and concepts for responsible conduct of human subjects research
- Previous involvement in process improvement activities within a research setting
