What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Review new and renewal mono-line commercial general liability and excess liability risks to determine acceptability for quoting and binding
- Manage an assigned portfolio to achieve financial goals, including gross written premium and profitability
- Develop and maintain effective agency relationships to drive new and renewal business
- Utilize underwriting tools and strategies to ensure adherence to guidelines and risk assessment
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders regarding underwriting decisions and market conditions
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
- 4-7+ years of experience in Specialty or standard commercial lines
- 3-4+ years of experience in driving agency relationships resulting in profitable business
- Strong communication skills to interact with external and internal partners
- Ability to make sound business decisions and exercise judgment based on authority levels
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in complex accounts within the Excess and Surplus Lines (E&S) sector
- Familiarity with underwriting concepts and risk management strategies
- Proven track record in sales management and relationship building within the insurance industry
- Adaptability to changes in market conditions and agency needs
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
