What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Serve as the departmental analyst providing consultation on initiatives related to public education
- Assist the legislation liaison in monitoring education-related legislation at both state and federal levels
- Communicate with various education organizations and agencies to facilitate collaboration and analysis
- Oversee media relations and maintain the department's online presence
- Develop internal communication strategies to effectively share information across the department
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Must possess a bachelor's degree or higher in any major
- At least one year of professional-level experience in the state classified service or equivalent experience
- Experience working as part of a policy team
- Experience working on state legislative issues
- Proven ability to track and analyze legislation
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- More than 3 years of experience working on state legislative issues
- Experience responding to constituent questions or providing constituent services
- Strong background in media relations and public communications
- Familiarity with government agency operations and education policies
- Demonstrated experience in strategic planning and message development
