- Ensure machining lines operate efficiently, reliably, and continuously to meet production targets.
- Own day-to-day machining performance, including process troubleshooting, optimization, and corrective actions.
- Program, edit, and optimize G Code for CNC turning centers and machining equipment.
- Develop, modify, and maintain CAD/CAM programs to support production, quality, and cycle-time improvements.
- Troubleshoot and modify automated CNC machines, PLC-controlled systems, and supporting equipment.
- Lead and execute continuous improvement and lean manufacturing projects.
- Perform time studies, labor studies, defect reduction studies, and throughput analyses.
- Implement process control changes and cost-saving initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce scrap.
- Optimize machining processes including feeds, speeds, tooling selection, and fixturing.
- Support the axle line and drivetrain manufacturing operations, including new implementations and launches.
- Collaborate closely with Production, Maintenance, Quality, and Engineering teams.
- Support both automated CNC systems and manual machining equipment and tooling.
- Take full ownership of assigned machining processes and equipment performance.
- 7–10 years of machining or manufacturing engineering experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with CNC machining, with an emphasis on turning operations.
- Proficiency in G Code programming, editing, and optimization.
- Experience with CAD/CAM programming (Mastercam, GibbsCAM, or similar platforms).
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and modify CNC machines and PLC-controlled systems.
- Strong understanding of machining processes, preferably in automotive, drivetrain, axle, or engine manufacturing.
- Knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Experience with cutting tool selection, optimization, and tooling strategies.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
- Demonstrated success in cycle-time reduction, defect reduction, and quality improvements.
- Experience with turning work on cylinders.
