What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Collect, manage, and analyze data on patients diagnosed with cancer
- Abstract, code, and report cancer statistics to ensure data quality and accuracy
- Maintain an efficient cancer database in accordance with the American College of Surgeons requirements
- Assist with annual follow-up of patients and case finding for the database
- Meet productivity goals in regard to data abstraction
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Associate's degree required
- Certification as an Oncology Data Specialist from the National Cancer Registrars Association (NCRA) required
- Minimum of 2 years of database management experience preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in tumor registry preferred
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience working in a cancer registry or related healthcare field
- Familiarity with cancer treatment protocols and data entry systems
- Additional certifications in healthcare data management
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis software
- Excellent communication skills for collaboration with healthcare teams
