- Design and implement an Oracle-based SEDAR Data Repository/Warehouse for Southeast Data, Assessment, and Review (SEDAR), enabling data providers to submit datasets with assurance of data compliance through validation checks.
- Oracle Data Warehouse Design and Implementation
- Oracle Developer / DBA
- Strong on Oracle database design, architecture, and reporting (developing views, etc).
- Very experienced at building Data Warehouses and enabling data for public distribution.
- Develop a system to extract updates from various authoritative data sources, ensuring data accuracy and efficiency.
- Collaborate with stakeholders from Southeastern U.S. Atlantic (SA), Gulf of Mexico (GOM), and the Caribbean regions to streamline data compilation and reduce errors.
- Continuously improve the system to ensure data security, data quality, and data accessibility.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues related to the SEDAR Data Repository.
- Proven experience in designing and implementing Oracle-based data warehouses or repositories.
- Strong understanding of data validation techniques and data compliance principles.
- Experience with data integration, data extraction, and data transformation tools.
- Familiarity with fisheries data and data management systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Eight+ years of experience.

Project Overview:
The FIS Project aims to create a modern and efficient Oracle-based SEDAR Data Repository/Warehouse for the Southeast Data, Assessment, and Review (SEDAR) process. This system will enable data providers to submit datasets and ensure data compliance through validation checks. The repository will extract updates from authoritative data sources and support various SEFSC surveys and state agencies in three regions: Southeastern U.S. Atlantic, Gulf of Mexico, and the Caribbean. The project's goal is to reduce compilation effort and errors, improve data accessibility, and ensure data security. The system will not be authoritative on all data but will act as a centralized platform for data integration and validation.
