What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Lead structural analysis strategy for UAV airframes, substructures, and critical components
- Define and review finite element modeling approaches, assumptions, and load cases
- Perform and oversee various structural analyses including static, modal, fatigue, and damage tolerance
- Drive structural optimization concerning performance, weight, cost, and manufacturability
- Mentor and guide junior structural analysts while partnering with cross-functional teams
What is Required (Qualifications):
- B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field
- 12+ years of experience in structural analysis or aerospace systems
- Deep expertise with FEA tools such as ANSYS, NASTRAN, or HyperWorks
- Advanced proficiency in hand calculations for structural integrity assessments
- Strong background in structural testing and certification support
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Master's or Ph.D. in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
- Experience as a technical lead on aircraft or UAV programs
- Involvement in flight test support and structural certification efforts
- Familiarity with defining organizational analysis standards and methodologies
- Experience with CAD, PLM, and enterprise engineering toolchains
