What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Collaborate with stakeholders to establish action plans following adverse or sentinel events
- Problem-solve with medical staff regarding risk and safety issues
- Provide ongoing education to staff on patient safety topics and event reporting systems
- Assist in presenting educational programs that promote a culture of safety
- Act as a liaison between patients, families, and providers to address concerns and facilitate communication
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Clinical Healthcare Degree (BSN, RT, PT, OT, SLP, LCSW) or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience
- Certification in CPPS, CPHQ, and/or CPHRM within 12 months of hire
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and healthcare software (EPIC, RLDatix)
- Strong communication skills and ability to manage diverse stakeholder interactions
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Advanced degree in healthcare or related field, or Juris Doctor (JD)
- 3 years of clinical risk management, safety, or quality experience in an acute care setting
- Advanced knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance standards
- Experience in patient safety education and training
- Familiarity with patient rights and advance care planning
