Job Description

- Record and verify transactions, maintain the general ledger, and ensure proper allocation of assets, liabilities, revenue, and expenses.
- Perform account reconciliations, produce financial reports (e.g., balance sheets, profit and loss statements), and ensure accurate reporting.
- Help manage internal and external audits and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
- Oversee the month-end and year-end close processes and ensure accuracy before submitting final reports.
- Assist in training and mentoring other accounting staff.
- Potentially supervise the scheduling and daily workflow of junior accounting team members.
- Proficient in MS Excel and accounting software.
- Solid understanding of GAAP and strong analytical and reconciliation skills.
- Effective communication and time management skills.
- Detail-oriented, highly motivated, and able to manage multiple tasks.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
- At least 5 years of accounting experience, with a strong grasp of accounting principles.
- Construction experience or familiarity with the industry is a plus.
- CPA license (or working toward one) is preferred.
- Experience in a publicly traded company, financial reporting, SOX/internal controls is an advantage.
- Ability to sit for extended periods and work on a computer
- Capability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally
