- Managing a class (transitioning between activities, keeping the class on task, enforcing behavior expectations)
- Effectively working with other instructors and camp counselors
- Setting up materials before each session and cleaning up at the end
- Assisting with camper check-in, lunch, and check-out
- Cleaning up the facility
- Completing tasks as assigned by the camp director and site administrator
- The work environment includes both indoor and outdoor activities

BadgerBots empowers the next generation of engineers, scientists, innovators, and problem-solvers through fun, hands-on STEAM camps and workshops, youth robotics programs, and community events. By fostering a vibrant community of passionate STEAM mentors and enthusiasts, we inspire kids to explore, learn, and grow—building confidence and opening doors to future opportunities in STEAM.
While our headquarters are in Middleton, we’re growing and working to bring BadgerBots programs to families across the Madison area. This summer, we also have camps in Madison at Wingra School and Fitchburg at EAGLE School.

20 to 40 Schedule:
We offer flexible schedules—morning, afternoon, or full-day shifts.
Your BadgerBots summer will start with technical and general program training in the weeks leading up to camp, probably some meetings in May and/or early June that would be convenient for our high school student instructors who are still in school (dates/times to be determined). Summer camp officially starts on June 15 and continues through August 22. All staff will work from BadgerBots in Middleton, Wingra School in Madison, and/or EAGLE School in Fitchburg.
Salary/Wage Range:

Summer Camp Instructors—Now hiring!
Seasonal position from May/June 2026 to August 22, 2026
Hours per week: 20–40
BadgerBots is hiring college students to teach hands-on STEAM summer camps for kids in grades K-8! If you love working with kids and have an interest in teaching, robotics, coding, engineering, and/or science, this is the perfect opportunity to gain teaching experience, build leadership skills, and have fun while helping kids learn and grow.
Our instructors lead week-long camps. We’ll give you the curriculum, and you’ll put it into action!
Duties include:
We’d love if you have some familiarity with the following: Scratch or other block-based code languages, LEGO Mindstorms, Minecraft, 3D Printing and CAD, JavaScript, Python, or other programming languages. But it’s not necessary—we can teach you what you need to know.
Employment is contingent on a satisfactory background check.
Qualifications:
We’re looking for candidates who have experience working with kids in camp or club programs, K-12 education, or any other youth mentoring role. We’re particularly interested in capable public speakers, as well as those who can think on their feet, adapt to their students’ learning styles, and love teaching STEAM topics in a hands-on way.
We’d love it if you have some familiarity with the following: Scratch or other block-based coding languages, LEGO Mindstorms, Minecraft, 3D Printing and CAD, JavaScript, Python, or other programming languages. But it’s not necessary—we can teach you what you need to know. Students pursuing teaching degrees in elementary or secondary education are also encouraged to apply.
Bonus points if you have legendary 4-square or kickball skills—our campers take recess games seriously! We’re kidding, of course, but by the end of the summer, you’ll be a pro!
Physical Demands
