      We’re looking for a Mailroom and Office Services Supervisor responsible for overseeing the daily operations of Lawson's mail center, including shipping and receiving, as well as general office services, including supplies, courier services, and front desk support. This role ensures efficient, secure, and timely delivery of mail, packages, and internal documents while maintaining high service standards and managing staff.

      This position is located at Lawson’s distribution center in McCook, Illinois, but also works at our corporate headquarters in Chicago, IL. This role operates on a full-time work model with employees spending five days working in the office.       Responsibilities:
      • Oversees daily mailroom, shipping, and administrative service operations, directing the receipt, sorting, scanning, routing, and delivery of incoming and outgoing mail, packages, and inter-office correspondence.
      • Coordinates pickups and deliveries with couriers, ensuring proper documentation.
      • Prepares non-deliverable address mailings utilizing UPS Worldship or E-2 Open ADSI software.
      • Supervises a driver of, as well as personally driving, the mail services shuttle between the corporate headquarters in Chicago, the McCook distribution facility, and the Post Office.
      • Manages office supply inventory, including ordering supplies.
      • Handles document lifecycle activities including imaging, scanning, and storage of documents.
      • Performs select facility maintenance and repair, setting up rooms as required at McCook distribution center and corporate headquarters.
      • Ensures compliance with postal regulations, maintaining secure handling of confidential mail, and developing safety controls.
      • Administers the department budget, monitoring postage expenditures, and preparing reports on performance and metrics.
      • Manages relationships with external service vendors and equipment vendors.
      • Supervises staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management, as well as setting performance goals, conducting performance evaluations, and providing coaching.
      • Additional duties as assigned.

      Qualifications & Requirements:
      • High school diploma or equivalent, with at least 5 years of experience in mailroom management, logistics, or office services, with previous supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
      • This job requires travel of up to 30% within the Chicago area as required, particularly to Lawson’s corporate office in Chicago, IL, as well as the post office.
      • Proven ability to lead, train, and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment.
      • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills to handle high volumes of mail and meet tight deadlines.
      • Familiarity with mail tracking software, postage meters, and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
      • Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with internal departments and external vendors.
      • Ability to lift and handle packages (often up to 50 pounds) and stand/walk for extended periods.
      • Requires passing training, including 16 hours of hazardous materials shipping regulations, the National Safety Council's Defensive Driver Course safety program, and ISO process auditor certification.
      • Requires a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
      Our salary range for this role is $65,000 - $72,000 including a full benefits package.
