What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Administer the operations of contract monitoring and supplier protest programs for the State of Michigan
- Ensure compliance and maintain positive supplier relationships throughout the contract lifecycle
- Review procurement decisions to determine the validity of contract award protests
- Evaluate financial, legal, and performance information on potential suppliers to minimize contracting risks
- Collaborate with other state agencies and procurement professionals to develop and execute program policies
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major
- A minimum of four years of professional experience, including two years at the experienced (P11) level or one year at the advanced (12) level
- Experience in resolving vendor issues and developing policies
- Proven ability to manage strategic supplier meetings and evaluate requests for proposals
- Must provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States within three business days of beginning employment
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in public, supplier, or client relations
- Background in supply chain management, communications, business management, or law
- Familiarity with contractual issues and vendor protests
- Experience planning events and writing policies
- Prior work experience in a government or public administration setting
