What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Lead small teams of researchers and engineers on advanced R&D projects funded by government and commercial customers
- Collaborate with renowned academic and industry researchers in Natural Language Processing, machine learning, AI, and computer vision
- Develop and evaluate algorithms to understand textual content and perform reasoning on extracted data
- Lead proposals for new funding from government R&D organizations and commercial companies
- Supervise and review research and software developed by project teams
What is Required (Qualifications):
- PhD in Computer Science or related field with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience
- Strong publication history in NLP conferences or other AI venues incorporating NLP
- Experience leading federal and/or commercial business development activities and securing R&D funding
- Excellent project management skills with a track record of delivering complex research projects on time and within budget
- US Citizenship and willingness to apply for, use, and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience with natural language text generation using models such as GPT-2, BERT, or Grover
- Past work applying NLP to textual instructions and/or rules
