What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Underwrite new or renewal individual accounts while adhering to guidelines
- Develop and execute a marketing plan targeting key brokers and attending industry functions
- Perform financial, account, and industry analysis as part of underwriting functions
- Serve as a resource on underwriting and territory issues for the Commercial Surety team
- Lead special projects and other duties as assigned
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s degree in business, insurance, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar field or position
- Strong analytical skills to identify workable solutions in underwriting
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently while meeting objectives
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in commercial surety underwriting
- Familiarity with underwriting guidelines and authority limits
- Proven ability to build strong relationships with agents and reinsurers
- Knowledge of industry trends and competitive landscape
- Previous experience leading special projects or initiatives
