What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Support metalworking projects from planning and fabrication through assembly, inspection, and testing
- Fabricate fixtures, tooling, and experimental parts to meet special engineering needs
- Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, and materials into machines
- Select appropriate tools, materials, and machines for machinery work
- Utilize various instruments including micrometers, squares, and vernier calipers
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
- Proficiency with CAD software; familiarity with Mastercam or equivalent software is desired
- Ability to set up and operate metalworking, brazing, heat-treating, welding, and cutting equipment
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and design schematics
- Strong knowledge of machine tools and ability to confer with engineering and manufacturing personnel
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience programming computers and electronic instruments (e.g., numerically controlled machine tools)
- Team-oriented with a strong work ethic and a "work hard-play hard" mindset
- In-depth knowledge of metal properties and machine functions
- Ability to calculate dimensions and tolerances accurately
- Regular attendance and punctuality
