What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Serve as a customer industry advocate to enhance the customer experience by understanding risks and providing optimal insurance solutions
- Utilize a disciplined approach to exposure evaluation, risk assessment, and pricing
- Leverage risk insights, data, and models to make informed decisions at the point of sale
- Underwrite, analyze, and generate new and renewal business for Middle Markets property
- Develop and maintain relationships with agencies and brokers within the region
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School Diploma or Equivalent and 5+ years of experience in Underwriting or Market Facing area, or equivalent experience in Claims or Underwriting Support
- Experience with Microsoft Office
- Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and relevant experience
- Strong analytical skills and ability to handle complex assignments
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Bachelor's Degree
- 3+ years of Underwriting experience in Middle Market or larger
- Strong negotiation skills and retail broker relationships
- Superior skills in relationship building, active listening, and needs analysis
- CPCU and ARM designations are a plus
