What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Work closely with civic activists in various areas such as civic engagement, human rights, and independent media
- Manage NED-approved projects in Eastern Europe, focusing on Belarus and/or Ukraine
- Monitor and analyze political developments in relevant countries to inform NED strategies
- Build and maintain relationships with like-minded organizations and donors
- Travel to monitor grantees and analyze the political situation in the region
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree in International Affairs, Political Science, or related field; Master's degree preferred
- 2+ years of experience in democracy-related projects
- 1+ years of relevant living or working experience in Eastern Europe
- Full professional fluency in Eastern Europe language/s
- Ability to travel to countries in the portfolio
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in financial monitoring and reporting
- Knowledge of program evaluation techniques
- Familiarity with civil society issues and organizations in Eastern Europe
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
- Solid analytical skills
