What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Provide analysis and recommendations on complex tax, accounting, and regulatory topics related to nonqualified benefits programs
- Respond to customer inquiries regarding payroll, accounting treatment, and regulatory reporting
- Monitor legislative, regulatory, and tax-related activity, providing insights to management and developing communication materials
- Draft and condense complex subject matter into understandable communications for participants and staff
- Participate in strategic planning and policy development for the department
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business preferred
- CPA designation and 7+ years of relevant experience preferred
- Understanding of nonqualified benefits programs and familiarity with Internal Revenue Code sections 409A and 457
- Comprehensive knowledge of state and federal tax planning laws and insurance
- FINRA Series 6 registration required or must be obtained within 18 months of employment
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Progress towards industry designations (e.g., CLU, ChFC, CFP, FLMI) preferred
