What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Conduct research in theoretical quantum materials and quantum information science
- Teach undergraduate and graduate physics courses, including seminars
- Establish and maintain a high-quality, externally funded research program
- Provide service to the university through departmental and community engagement
- Mentor and inspire a motivated student body in their academic and research pursuits
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Ph.D. in Physics or a closely related field by the appointment start date (August 10, 2026)
- Strong research record in physics
- Commitment to quality teaching and mentoring
- Ability to teach compelling courses in physics at various levels
- Experience with integrating teaching and research in academic settings
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in mentoring students and advancing academic excellence
- Familiarity with a variety of research areas within physics, such as atomic, molecular, and optical physics
- Engagement in interdisciplinary research initiatives
- Previous experience in securing research funding
- Demonstrated ability to teach diverse student populations
