What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Oversee timely and accurate coding of all facility outpatient visits and coding audits
- Manage operations related to denials, claim edits, and charge capture for reimbursement
- Conduct audits of medical records for coding accuracy and compliance
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to achieve organizational goals
- Monitor employee training, productivity, quality, and overall performance of coding specialists
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s degree in health information administration or equivalent degree
- Minimum of 3 years of medical coding and/or revenue management experience
- Seven years of relevant industry experience in outpatient medical coding and revenue cycle operations preferred
- Required certifications may include RHIT, RHIA, CCS, or COC (outpatient credential only)
- Knowledge and experience with electronic health records and health information management applications
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Previous management experience in a healthcare setting
- Experience with ICD-10-CM diagnoses, HCC coding, and CPT-4 procedure codes
- Proven ability to collaborate with various stakeholders within a healthcare system
- Strong understanding of billing rules and compliance requirements
