What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Conduct crisis screenings over the phone for individuals seeking shelter or resources related to domestic violence
- Provide emotional support, crisis intervention, advocacy, and safety planning to callers
- Document all calls and maintain strict confidentiality while ensuring compliance with agency policies
- Collaborate with community agencies to provide comprehensive services and appropriate referrals
- Attend virtual supervision, training, and staff meetings to stay updated on best practices and policies
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Must be a resident of Northern Virginia (NOVA)
- Reliable and stable internet connection and a quiet workspace
- Bachelor's degree in human services, social work, or a related field, or a combination of education and experience
- Minimum of 2 years' experience working with victims of domestic violence, sexual violence, or human trafficking
- Strong written and oral communication skills, including active listening and the ability to maintain client confidentiality
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience working with clients who have suffered trauma, particularly in domestic violence or child abuse fields
- Familiarity with trauma-informed care as it relates to domestic violence
- Experience in a call center handling crisis situations
- Background in working with diverse populations
