- Total stipend of $31,200 distributed over approximately 44 weeks for participation in both remote learning and hands-on internship/externship training
- Eligible for monthly Health Marketplace reimbursement up to $600 for 44 weeks (participant cost only)

What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Provide efficient and effective coding services in accordance with payer requirements and organizational policies
- Abstract clinical data from patient medical records for accurate code assignment of diagnoses and procedures
- Assist with research for denied claims and communicate with providers to obtain necessary information
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and comply with HIPAA regulations
- Establish and maintain positive working relationships with patients, payers, and other stakeholders
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Must be 18 years or older
- Must have a high school diploma or GED
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident/Green Card holder
- Ability to pass a national criminal background check successfully
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Bilingual Spanish speaker
- Familiarity with California billing processes
