      The In Vivo Technologist will learn all the basic procedures required to support In Vivo Pharmacology and Research and Development studies. Working under general supervision, the In Vivo Technologist will perform study tasks for which they have been trained by consistently executing procedures according to protocol and associated SOPs.

      The work schedule and work list for the incumbents is established based on operational demands and resource availability and may fluctuate based on the changing needs of the department. Staff members may be required to work weekend shifts, holidays, and overtime.

      The wage range is $23.26 - $33.74 per hour. Pay will be determined based upon qualifications and experience.

      Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions:

      Perform basic biomethods such as handling (i.e. restraint, ear notch, clinical observations, body weights, tail tipping), dosing (i.e. PO, SC, IP), blood collection (i.e., cardiac, RO, submandibular, tail tip), and basic necropsies.

      Training to perform above procedures to proficiency levels.

      Perform basic animal husbandry such as housing, receiving, and randomizing animals for study, and preparing and maintaining cage cards.

      Perform basic wet lab procedures such as tube labeling, basic solution prep, and sample processing.

      Accurate entry of data including lab IT systems and databases. Maintain appropriate documentation as required by protocols and SOP’s.

      Perform general lab sanitation, maintain consumables and reagents, and maintain equipment through calibration, validation and monitoring.

      Other duties as assigned.

      Qualifications:

      Bachelor degree in a life science; Associate degree with 1+ year of lab or animal care experience; or 2+ years of lab or animal care experience.

      Animal handling and basic husbandry skills with mice.

      Regular & dependable attendance to maintain work flow.

      Demonstrated successful record keeping skills.

      Strong written and oral communication skills sufficient to permit clear and effective exchange of information with people representing a wide diversity of disciplines and levels of sophistication.

      Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while consistently maintaining a positive and professional demeanor. Ability to be flexible and multi-task.

      Ability to work with computer software and databases such as Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
