What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Assist with the assembly and submission of licensure applications to state agencies for medical review activities
- Conduct legal research and summarize statutory and regulatory guidance affecting the employer
- Proofread contracts and other documents, providing suggested edits and identifying potential issues
- Participate in committee activities, including taking minutes and tracking progress on projects
- Assist in documenting and tracking security incidents that pose potential compliance exposure
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Juris Doctorate degree from an ABA accredited law school or a license to practice law in a United States jurisdiction
- Minimum of 3 years of regulatory experience, legal assistant, or paralegal experience
- Demonstrated ability to identify operational issues and legal risks
- Proficiency in legal writing and understanding of basic legal citations
- Strong communication skills and ability to manage time efficiently
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Business experience in a healthcare and/or insurance setting
- Familiarity with compliance training and regulatory requirements
- Experience with document management and preparation for legal matters
- Knowledge of industry-specific legal guidelines and practices
