What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Deliver accurate and compliant coding services for member clinics and acute care hospitals
- Extract and interpret clinical data from medical records to support accurate code assignment
- Review patient encounters to assign appropriate diagnosis and procedure codes
- Support member organizations in achieving accurate reimbursement through code validation
- Communicate with providers for additional information as needed
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Experience in billing and/or coding revenue cycle preferred
- Working knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance billing processes preferred
- Required certifications: Medical coding from AAPC (CPC) or AHIMA (CCS) and current certification from ADCA (CDC)
- Required certification for Inpatient coding: Certified Inpatient Coder (CIC) or AHIMA Inpatient certification
- Ability to work independently and efficiently from a home office environment
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience with Epic In-Basket messaging for provider communication
- Familiarity with legal requirements for billing and reimbursement processes
- Previous experience in a remote work environment
