What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Manage cancer patient databases, ensuring accurate recording of essential information
- Abstract cancer-related data following established policies and procedures
- Assign codes for treatments, procedures, and diagnoses using various classification systems
- Perform data entry utilizing specialized software for maintaining cancer registries
- Examine medical and pathology records to determine patient eligibility for the cancer registry
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Associate Degree in a health-related field or equivalent work experience of at least two years with a strong emphasis on data integrity and analysis
- Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) within two (2) years of employment
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and coding systems
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Current Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR)
- 1 year of CTR abstraction experience in a CoC Accredited Cancer Program
- Bachelor's degree in health information management or a related field
