What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Accurately abstract and interpret clinical data from patient medical records to identify and record cancer diagnoses
- Track oncology patient data throughout the full course of care, from diagnosis through treatment and follow-up
- Input complete, high-quality data into national cancer registries and internal databases
- Maintain a consistent workflow of abstracting 5 cases per day (25 cases per week) from a provided suspense list
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure compliance with cancer reporting standards
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Must be a Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) to be considered for this position
- Minimum educational requirement: High School Diploma or GED
- 3-5 years of medical records experience
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Associate's Degree in a relevant field
- Familiarity with national cancer registry reporting standards
- Experience working in oncology data management or similar roles
- Proficiency in utilizing multiple data sources for comprehensive patient case tracking
