What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Open, review, and interpret KMZ/KML, shapefiles, and PDF plan sets using tools like Google Earth Pro and QGIS/ArcGIS
- Produce preliminary takeoffs and validate bill of materials for construction projects
- Translate mapping data into constructible sequences, identifying access and restoration requirements
- Read and interpret RFP/RFQ documents; build compliance matrices and submission checklists
- Prepare full response packages, ensuring on-time and compliant submissions
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum of 3 years in OSP/underground utilities construction estimating, design support, or field engineering
- Proficiency with KMZ/KML and at least one GIS/mapping platform (Google Earth Pro, QGIS, or ArcGIS)
- Ability to read civil/utility plan sets and traffic control drawings
- Strong business writing and document control skills
- Intermediate Excel skills, including lookups and pivots
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience responding to telecom or municipal utility RFPs with complete technical and commercial packages
- Takeoff experience for conduit, fiber, vaults, and restoration quantities
- Familiarity with permit processes and traffic control specifications
- Basic CAD literacy for viewing and markup
- Vendor/subcontract coordination and quote normalization experience
