What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Answer calls and text/chat messages on the crisis line, providing support to individuals and families in crisis
- Assess presenting problems and psychosocial stressors to determine appropriate responses
- Complete risk assessments to ensure the safety and well-being of callers experiencing a crisis
- Collaborate with Crisis Response Services across the state to provide effective intervention
- Document interactions and maintain accurate records while engaging with clients
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Associate Degree required
- Minimum of one year of experience in crisis or mental health-related fields preferred
- Ability to earn the MHRT-CSP certification within 30 days of employment
- Strong oral communication skills, with the ability to manage complex tasks during crisis calls
- Must successfully pass a criminal background check and meet other safety requirements
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Previous experience working in a call center or customer service environment
- Familiarity with DSM-V information and crisis intervention techniques
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with complex information and challenging situations
