      What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
      - Conduct in-reach visits to educate and inform adults with serious mental illness about community-based mental health services and housing options
      - Maintain and manage a caseload to ensure timely visits and adherence to policy requirements
      - Facilitate meetings with members/recipients to assess interest in supported housing and behavioral health services
      - Document all Peer Support Specialist activities and report outcomes to ensure compliance with state requirements
      - Collaborate with other staff to address challenges and barriers to successful transitions for members/recipients

      What is Required (Qualifications):
      - High school diploma or GED
      - 1-2 years of experience working with the mental health or substance use population
      - Must be a NC Certified Peer Support Specialist
      - Ability to establish respectful relationships with individuals with a wide range of disabilities
      - Strong communication skills, both oral and written, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team

      How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
      - Knowledge of Medicaid and Special Assistance benefits and community supports
      - Experience with recovery-oriented practices and person-centered thinking
      - Familiarity with laws, regulations, and policies governing human services
      - Additional training in Assertive Engagement, Motivational Interviewing, and Active Listening Skills
