What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Provide comprehensive medical care to patients in a shelter medical unit, addressing both pediatric and adult needs
- Establish healthcare plans in accordance with best practice guidelines and agency protocols
- Complete accurate documentation and maintain compliance with regulatory standards
- Conduct medical examinations and immunizations following established contract guidelines
- Collaborate with clinical staff and management to develop and review medical protocols and procedures
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner Program with appropriate certification
- Minimum of three (3) years of Nurse Practitioner experience in a Family Practice setting
- Bilingual communication skills in Spanish and English
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record
- Current licenses and certifications required for the position, including BLS, ACLS, and PALS
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Prior RN experience
- Deployment history with the employer during medical sheltering for a combined 2 months' timeframe
- Experience working in fast-paced, dynamic environments
- Cultural competency in responding to diverse populations
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
