What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Answer all incoming scheduling phone calls from patients, referring physicians, and hospitals
- Create charts in the EHR for new patients and schedule appointments
- Monitor the phone system display for the number of calls in the queue and wait times
- Verify insurance and collaborate with the insurance coordinator for appropriate verification
- Assist patients with various challenges to ensure they receive the proper resources for their visit
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of one year of experience in a medical office environment
- Ability to train on-site for several weeks
- Strong communication skills to assist patients effectively
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience with practice management systems
- Knowledge of quality metrics and scheduling templates
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting
