What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Support the preparation and submission of state and federal regulatory reports, including financial projections and utilization reporting
- Maintain cash flow and capital models to support financial planning and regulatory compliance
- Perform regulatory financial projections related to solvency assessments and capital adequacy
- Reconcile actual financial and enrollment data to modeled results and investigate variances
- Collaborate with Finance, Compliance, and Actuarial leadership to ensure compliance with internal controls and reporting standards
What is Required (Qualifications):
- 3-5 years of relevant actuarial experience in a health plan or insurance regulatory setting
- Progress toward Associate of the Society of Actuaries designation (e.g., 2+ actuarial exams passed)
- Familiarity with statutory accounting principles and regulatory reporting requirements
- Technical skills including Excel, SQL, and other actuarial tools
- Ability to analyze large datasets and summarize findings clearly and concisely
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Actuarial expertise related to financial drivers of Medicare Advantage health plan operations
- Ability to work independently and propose solutions to emerging business needs
- Exposure to capital modeling techniques and solvency assessment frameworks
- Working knowledge of SQL, SAS, Python, or other data tools for automation and modeling
- Effective communication skills for presenting technical results to non-technical audiences
