What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Research, design, and architect new software solutions for optimal tasking of diverse fleets of satellites
- Collaborate with aerospace engineers on complex applied mathematics problems and provide software mentorship
- Improve operations of existing satellite fleets and enable future missions through innovative solutions
- Lead the development of constellation-level automation tools and software strategy
- Mentor team members and foster cross-functional learning
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, aerospace engineering, physics, or a related technical field
- 6+ years of total relevant experience
- Proficiency in software development using C++ and Python
- Experience maintaining peer-reviewed code with a focus on quality, automated testing, and continuous integration
- Familiarity with orbital mechanics and space mission operations
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Familiarity with Docker, Jenkins, JIRA, and Linux-based systems
- Experience with orbit determination, high-fidelity propagation, and low-thrust mission design
- Knowledge of maneuver automation and constellation management
