      What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
      - Serve as the primary permitting lead for all projects, managing permits across various jurisdictions including city, county, and state levels.
      - Coordinate all permits related to utility construction, including excavation, pipeline, and environmental permits.
      - Conduct comprehensive permit research and prepare complete permitting packages for submission.
      - Maintain communication with municipal reviewers, inspectors, and utility stakeholders to secure timely approvals.
      - Track all permits and communicate updates to internal engineering, construction, and project teams.

      What is Required (Qualifications):
      - 5-7+ years of direct experience obtaining permits for utility, gas, energy, infrastructure, or public works projects.
      - Strong knowledge of utility construction permitting and municipal code interpretation.
      - Experience navigating City of Los Angeles permitting systems for utility work.
      - Proven ability to independently manage permitting across multiple jurisdictions.
      - Proficiency with GIS tools and online permitting systems used by LA City and LA County.

      How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
      - Prior experience supporting SoCalGas or another gas/electric utility.
      - Familiarity with pipeline construction workflows and environmental compliance for trenching.
      - Understanding of CEQA/NEPA triggers related to utility development.
      - Strong municipal relationships and understanding of Southern California agency processes.
      - Ability to anticipate jurisdictional issues early in the permitting process.
