What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Research, analyze, and interpret state and local environmental laws, regulations, and guidance
- Communicate with contractors to ensure all necessary permits are secured
- Draft and revise authorizations, approvals, and permit forms
- Prepare materials and lead meetings with state and local regulators
- Track state and local regulatory changes and assess compliance gaps and operational impacts
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in Environmental Policy, Environmental Science, Environmental Studies, Natural Resources, Public Policy, Sustainability, or a closely related field, or equivalent experience
- Demonstrated experience securing state and local permits for industrial developments
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in environmental compliance or permitting
- Strong understanding of state statutes, local ordinances, and zoning codes
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience with GIS and wetland delineation certifications
- Familiarity with ISO 14001 and Toxic Release Inventory Reporting
- Knowledge of stormwater pollution prevention plans and corporate waste management plans
- Ability to propose innovative solutions to technical challenges
- Passion for clean energy and advanced fission technology
