What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Assist attorneys with legal technical assistance and the development of educational materials on public health law topics
- Conduct legal research and analysis to support harm reduction initiatives
- Participate in outreach and relationship-building with public health and legal experts
- Contribute to the creation of Network resources for practitioners and advocates
- Prepare at least one Law and Policy Insights article for publication by the end of the summer
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Excellent legal research and writing skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Demonstrated commitment to health equity and social justice
- Must be a rising 2L or 3L student with a strong interest in harm reduction law and drug policy advocacy
- Individuals with lived experience are particularly encouraged to apply
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Previous experience or coursework related to public health law or harm reduction
- Familiarity with legal writing and analysis
- Active involvement in health equity or social justice initiatives
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
