What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Provide timely data entry of all trauma patients admitted to or transferred in accordance with state and regional trauma registry requirements
- Interpret documentation in patient records and ensure familiarity with ICD coding
- Develop strong relationships with patient care providers, physicians, and community resources
- Utilize data entry programs effectively and coordinate data across various systems
- Maintain organization and flexibility in performing duties while demonstrating initiative and creativity
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School Graduate; Associate’s Degree in data management or related field preferred
- Minimum of two years of experience in a healthcare setting with proficiency in data handling software (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
- Strong medical terminology skills
- Experience in interpreting patient information in medical records, particularly in emergency care settings
- Knowledge and experience with current ICD coding
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Previous experience with a trauma registry is desirable
- Strong organizational skills and flexibility in performance of duties
