- Translate NCCT’s vision into operational strategies and execution plans that embed clinical trials into routine care across Advocate Health’s network.
- Establish and support NCCT-designated trial sites across Advocate Health regions, ensuring readiness, staff training, and operational capability.
- Champion strategies to expand patient access and diversity in trials, leveraging centralized recruitment programs and community engagement.
- Drive adoption of emerging methodologies such as decentralized trials and telehealth integrations and benchmark NCCT operations against leading industry standards.
- Represent NCCT in externally facing engagements, including client meetings, industry conferences, and professional forums, to showcase capabilities and strengthen strategic partnerships.
- Direct end-to-end trial operations, including site activation, recruitment, execution, and close-out, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and regulatory standards.
- Develop and implement SOPs, policies, and best practices to harmonize trial conduct across all sites under a single IRB and unified infrastructure.
- Oversee adoption of enterprise-wide tools such as CTMS, EHR, and AI-driven recruitment platforms to streamline workflows and enhance patient engagement.
- Define and monitor KPIs for trial operations and use data-driven insights to identify bottlenecks and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Manage operational resources effectively, including forecasting needs, allocating staff and budgets, and maintaining ownership for resource planning to support current and future trial demands.
- Oversee the operations of a contact center with both inbound and outbound capabilities to engage clinical trial participants, ensuring timely communication, responsiveness, and a positive participant experience.
- Manage staff responsible for centralized recruitment and retention of clinical trial participants, ensuring effective strategies, timely enrollment, and sustained engagement throughout the study.
- Leverage technology and analytics to monitor and optimize recruitment and retention performance, using real-time dashboards and data insights to drive continuous improvement in participant engagement.
- Manage staff responsible for project management and study oversight.
- Manage staff performing duties related to regulatory document maintenance, submissions to the IRB, and ensure the Investigator Site File for each trial remains audit-ready at all times.
- Serve as the primary operational liaison to sponsors, CROs, investigators, and internal leaders, ensuring strong relationships and delivery on contractual obligations.
- Align closely with the Business Development and Sales function to ensure operational delivery excellence for awarded work and actively support pre-sales efforts to secure new partnerships and trial opportunities.
- Collaborate tightly with Regulatory, Quality, and Compliance function to ensure data integrity, patient safety, and adherence to all applicable standards and guidelines.
- Work closely with Finance and Legal functions on budget and contract development, financial reconciliation, and compliance with sponsor and institutional requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree required
- At least 10 years in clinical research operations with at least 7 years in senior leadership roles overseeing multi-site or enterprise-level programs.
- Deep knowledge of FDA regulations, ICH-GCP, and clinical trial processes; experience with IRB administration and compliance. Familiarity with CTMS, EHR integrations, and advanced recruitment technologies.
- Proven ability to lead large teams, manage complex portfolios, and drive organizational change in a matrixed environment.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills to engage diverse stakeholders and foster cross-functional alignment.
- Strong analytical, decision-making, and financial management skills; commitment to operational excellence and patient-centered research.

Pay Range
$131.90 - $211.05Provides strategic and operational leadership for the Advocate Health National Center for Clinical Trials (NCCT), ensuring the efficient, compliant, and high-quality execution of clinical trials across a national footprint of hospitals and care sites. This role is pivotal in advancing NCCT’s mission to make clinical trials a routine part of patient care, harmonizing processes across regions and functions, and leveraging technology to deliver operational excellence. Leads enterprise-wide integration of trial operations into clinical workflows, standardize procedures, and foster collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to position NCCT as a national leader in clinical research.
*Remote based position with monthly travel expectations.
