What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Conduct wetland delineations, mapping, and report writing for capital projects
- Perform fieldwork, including soil and vegetation analysis, using specialized equipment
- Draft and submit wetland delineation reports and mitigation plans for permit applications
- Collaborate with other state departments and planners to ensure compliance with regulations
- Prepare additional supporting documents for policy and regulatory compliance
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Associate's degree in wetland science, natural resource science, or related field with four years of professional experience, or a Bachelor's degree with two years of experience in wetland science or related fields
- Valid Driver's License
- Professional experience in wetland science, habitat management, or natural resource planning
- Strong fieldwork capabilities and knowledge of wetland plant identification
- Ability to conduct scientific/technical report writing
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Knowledge of data processing and analysis using Esri ArcGIS Pro and Field Maps
- Experience with hydric soil identification and Ordinary High Water Mark (OHWM) delineation
- Familiarity with aquatic species protection methodologies
- Skills in code, law, and regulation research
- Experience in vegetative surveys and monitoring
