What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Prepare and submit purchase requisitions for all departments within the organization
- Communicate with vendors regarding payment issues and assist with vendor setup and maintenance
- Prepare journal entries and assist in reconciling general ledger accounts
- Track outstanding checks and manage escheat letters
- Assist with annual audit preparation and provide requested information
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School Diploma or GED with three years of experience in an accounting position focused on accounts payable, or an Associate’s Degree in accounting
- Working knowledge of accounting principles and general office procedures
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and general computer operation
- Ability to organize a large volume of documents and meet payment deadlines
- Exceptional judgment and discretion in applying policies and procedures
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in a healthcare-related accounting role
- Familiarity with finance accounting software systems
- Strong communication skills for effective vendor interactions
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with agency personnel and the public
