What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):

- Provide interpreting and/or transliterating services for Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing consumers and hearing consumers primarily in the healthcare environment
- Facilitate communication through the use of American Sign Language, spoken English, cultural mediation, and knowledge about accessibility
- Keep all medical information strictly confidential
- Follow the NAD-RID Professional Code of Conduct
- Render messages faithfully, conveying the content and spirit of the speaker using the language understood by the person(s) being served

What is Required (Qualifications):

- Complete proficiency in ASL
- Valid certification from the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID)
- Knowledge of the NAD-RID Professional Code of Conduct
- Self-motivated with good customer service skills
- Able to work well with minimal supervision

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):

- Medical interpretation experience
