What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Direct the enterprise payroll tax strategy and ensure compliance across federal, state, and local regulations
- Serve as the primary leader for tax policy decisions and coordinate with legal, finance, and human resources
- Oversee technical tax architecture, including system configurations and control frameworks for implementations
- Manage agency notice resolution lifecycle by implementing service level agreements and root cause analysis
- Monitor legislative and regulatory changes to assess financial impact and lead necessary organizational adjustments
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School diploma equivalency with 5 years of relevant experience, including 2 years in leadership, or an Associate's/Bachelor's degree with 3 years of relevant experience, including 2 years in leadership
- Ten or more years of progressive payroll tax experience with a track record of managing high-performing teams
- Extensive background in payroll tax operations for large organizations with decentralized structures
- Proven success in leading major system conversions and complex tax configuration projects
- Strong leadership and management capabilities
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience with payroll tax operations in a nonprofit healthcare setting
- Familiarity with legislative and regulatory compliance specific to the healthcare industry
- Advanced knowledge of payroll tax software and systems
- Proven ability to implement strategic initiatives effectively
- Experience with employee training and development in payroll functions
