What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Collect patient intake documents prior to appointments to streamline processes and reduce paperwork
- Answer inbound and outbound calls while gathering patient demographics and insurance information
- Verify insurance details, including Medicaid and Medicare information, for patients
- Direct out-of-network insured patients to the Office of Financial Counseling
- Provide detailed appointment information including time, location, and physician details
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School Diploma, GED, or formal educational equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years of customer service or healthcare experience
- Ability to follow oral instructions and possess basic reading and writing skills
- Proficiency in computer and basic keyboard skills, along with telephone etiquette
- Excellent customer service skills
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Associate degree in general studies or related field
- One year of experience in a medical office setting
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology, with competency expected within 3 months of hire
- Previous experience in patient registration preferred
